Celebrate 200th anniversary of Hans Christian Andersen's birth

Danish-born 19th-century author Hans Christian Andersen wrote some
of the world's most beloved fairytales that to this day remain favorites of
adults and children everywhere.
Among his famous stories are “The Emperor's New Clothes,” “Ugly Duckling,” “Thumbelina,” “The
Fir Tree,” “The Red Shoes,” “The Princess and the Pea,” “The Little Mermaid” and “The
Brave Tin Soldier.”
April 2 marks the 200th anniversary of Andersen's birth, and Learning
Resources & Technology
Services is celebrating the occasion with a display of his work in the main
lobby of the Miller Center.
Many Hans Christian Andersen works, including books and videos, are available
for checkout from the Miller Center. You can find a collection of them on
a cart near the Reference Desk on 1st Floor West.
