Friday, Aug. 25 - Oct. 7, 8 am, Miller Center 2nd Floor Reading Court: Elizabeth I: Ruler and Legend open during all library hours. Additional displays in the 1st floor and 3rd floor Archives display cases.

Wednesday, Aug. 25 - Oct. 6, Atwood Memorial Gallery: Elizabethan costume exhibit from the Guthrie Theater costume shop. Gallery hours: Aug. 25-Sept. 3, Mon-Fri 8am-4pm. Sept. 4, 9am-4pm. Sept. 5-Oct. 6, Mon-Fri 8 am-7 pm, Sat-Sun 9 am-5 pm.

Thursday, Aug. 31, 4:15 pm, Miller Center 2nd Floor Reading Court: Opening Reception during Convocation.

Wednesday, Sept. 6, 12 pm - 2 pm, Atwood Memorial Gallery: Guthrie Theater Elizabethan costume exhibit reception. Costume curator, Beth Burns, lecture at 12:30 pm.

Thursday, Sept. 7, 1 pm, Miller Center, outside South Entrance: Elizabeth's Birthday (born 1533), help us celebrate with cake.

Wednesday, Sept. 13, 3:30 pm, Miller Center Auditorium 122: Keynote address by Clark Hulse
The Newberry Library’s exhibit curator, author of "Elizabeth I: Ruler and Legend" and professor of English and art history at the University of Illinois at Chicago will discuss creating a worldwide exhibit. Reception will follow in Miller Center 114/115.

Monday, Sept. 18, 4 pm, Miller Center Auditorium 122: Faculty Lecture
SCSU History professor Mark Jaede will be discussing "The Americas in the age of Elizabeth."

Wednesday, Sept. 20, 7 pm, Atwood Theater: "Elizabeth the King: The Search for Self" by Robin Johnson and Jeff Huset.
SCSU alum Robin Johnson will portray Elizabeth I, based on a St. Paul production of Timothy Findley's Elizabeth Rex which she directed and performed.

Thursday, Sept. 21- Sunday, Sept. 24, 8 pm, Atwood Theater: Movie
Shakespeare in Love presented by University Programming Board.

Tuesday, Sept. 26, 4 pm, Miller Center Auditorium 122: Faculty Lecture
SCSU History professor Marie Kim will be discussing "Religion in the time of Elizabeth."

Wednesday, Sept. 27, 7pm, Cascade Room in Atwood: "Native Visions: Reflections on Images of and by Native Americans." American Indian Center & Multicultural Resource Center lecture with Joseph Horse Capture, curator of Africa, Oceania, and the Americas at the Minneapolis Institute of Arts.

Thursday, Sept. 28, 1 pm and 7 pm, Miller Center 114/115: Book Talk, The Leadership Secrets of Elizabeth I a discussion led by Lora Robinson, emeriti professor of BCIS. Please contact Angela Wortham (308-4752 or awortham@stcloudstate.edu) to sign up and to receive a copy of the book.

SCSU English professor Jim Anderson will be discussing "Queen Elizabeth in Literature."

SCSU Philosophy professor Carolyn Hartz will be discussing "Secret Knowledge in the Renaissance: Alchemy as Spiritual Transformation."

Saturday, Oct. 7, 10 am- 4 pm, Barden Park, Miller Center South: Have Court Will Travel
Renaissance performers, Have Court will Travel, will present a day in Queen Elizabeth's England including presentations on courtly manners, royal weaponry and more. Held in conjunction with SCSU Family Weekend.

Tuesday, Nov. 14 - Sunday, Nov. 19, Center Stage in the Performing Arts Center: SCSU Department of Theatre, Film Studies and Dance will present Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet. Tickets will be available in Atwood (beginning November 1, 2006).
