Incorporating Elizabeth I Ruler and Legend into your classes
Here are a few suggestions to make the exhibit part of your class.
- Create an annotated bibliography (journal articles, books, web sites, etc.) based on one of the major questions of the exhibit: Can a woman rule? What is the place of religion in the state? What is the price of peace, and what are the true causes of war? How does a political leader control her image?
- Write an accurate life story of a person living at Queen Elizabeth’s court utilizing primary documents and descriptions of the time period.
- Examine the religious struggles during the time of Elizabeth I and analyze what she did to minimize religious differences.
- Create a web page on one facet of Elizabethan life and the advances made during Elizabeth's time in fashion, food, theater, music, architecture, etc.
- Compare and contrast the warfare in Elizabethan times to today.
- Select an object depicted in the exhibit and research the object and its place in history.
